Bukuminkum, a work affectionately dubbed Blak Giselle is Lang’s latest artistic innovation and looks to deconstruct the colonial ballet archetype using First Nations storytelling to create fresh relevance for all Australians. 

This production is large scale, imagining equal numbers of Yolngu artists to principal dancers on stage, as well as a corps de ballet. It is an entirely new dance form which will see Lang’s vision of realising his choreography en pointe for the first time in his career.
